The Crows rose to sixth on the ladder after downing North Melbourne by 33 points on Thursday night - their fifth consecutive win.
But the 12.28 (100) to 10.7 (67) win was a missed opportunity for a real percentage booster.
It was the most wasteful the Crows have been since they kicked 13.27 against Melbourne in round 20, 1993
First-year head coach Don Pyke was happy with the four premiership points, but less impressed with those racked up by some woeful kicking.
"You always worry about that (inaccurate goalkicking)," Pyke said. "But I felt the way the game was being played and the flow of the game, it was coming more into our half and I felt that would eventually lead to goals."
While conditions were damp and blustery, Pyke said other factors were at play.
"It's a combination of the pressure and some of our set shots were clearly not at the (required) level," he said.
"Some of that was our doing and some of that was the pressure of the game.
"We have done a lot of goalkicking at training. Some of it was routine for guys in terms of their set shot, some of it was snaps ... we do a lot on it and we will continue to work on it. It is an area we have to get better at."
