Alarming shift to apartments in Canberra doesn't reflect what people want

The Canberra Times this month reported a dramatic fall in the number of new houses being built in Canberra. The report, referring to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, reveals that during the period from 2011-12 to 2015-16, housing approvals declined by 40 per cent from 1841 to 1093, and apartment approvals were down 17 per cent in the same period, from 3991 to 3329.
