New figures released by the Australian Taxation Office reveal the ACT postcodes with the highest amount of lost or unclaimed superannuation.

West Belconnen leads the pack, with a combined $35 million of lost superannuation across 6,068 accounts.
North Canberra ($24 million), West Gungahlin ($23 million), Weston Creek ($22 million) and South Tuggeranong ($20 million) round out the list of the top five biggest losers.
Lost superannuation refers to accounts where the super fund manager is no longer in contact with the member.
After a set period this "lost super" is transferred to the Australian Taxation Office, where it becomes "unclaimed super".
Across Australia there is almost $18 billion of lost superannuation, according to the ATO data, with $296 million coming from the ACT.
New South Wales has the highest amount of missing superannuation ($5 billion), followed by Victoria ($3.6 billion) and Queensland ($3.1 billion).
Superannuation registered to invalid postcodes accounts for $935 million of the national shortfall.
The tax department's assistant commissioner, Debbie Rawlings, said those concerned about their superannuation accounts should take steps to track them down.
"Over the past four financial years we've reunited 1.68 million accounts worth $8.12 billion with the account owner, and there's plenty more to be found," Ms Rawlings said.
"By using myGov to track down your super, the money will be transferred to your preferred fund, generally within three working days.
"More people are finding their lost and unclaimed super through our online services every year, but these figures show there are many people who still may not realise how quickly and easily they can check their super accounts."
Ms Rawlings said it was possible to lose track of superannuation accounts in circumstances such as changing jobs or moving to a new address.
"They may also lose track of their super from accounts established earlier in their career," she said.
"While the number of people with multiple accounts has been falling, there are still almost 2.3 million Australians with three or more super accounts."
She also recommended that people with multiple super accounts look at consolidating these in one place.
"You might choose to keep multiple accounts, but if you consolidate your multiple super accounts into the one you prefer, you'll avoid paying multiple sets of fees and charges," she said.
"If you're not sure whether to consolidate your accounts, check with your super fund who can advise you on issues such as insurance that may be attached to your accounts."
