The ongoing saga of a baby boy taken from an O'Malley home came to a close on Monday after the father of the nine-week-old, Garry Gordon, was found in Canberra, police said.

The baby was found on Sunday night safe and well in NSW, and the father who allegedly took the child is now assisting police with their enquiries.
Mr Gordon, 25, allegedly took his son from an O'Malley house, where the boy was being looked after by relatives, just before 6am on Sunday.
The baby's disappearance sparked an extensive search and prompted police to publicly plead with Mr Gordon to make contact with them.
The infant was found in Wollongong in NSW and was believed to be unharmed. Police said he underwent routine medical checks and his family had been notified.
Wollongong police shift supervisor Acting Sergeant Steve Probst said the child was dropped off at the hospital about 5.50pm on Sunday.
"The child, at this stage believed [to be] unharmed, has been left at Wollongong Hospital by the father," Acting Sgt Probst said.
Police initially treated the incident as an abduction but later said it was being treated as a "check welfare".
Sergeant Harry Hains said on Sunday that Mr Gordon was the child's biological father and there were no court orders in place that would prohibit him from seeing the child.
But he said the father was "distressed".
It is understood Mr Gordon was estranged from the baby's mother, who was in hospital, and that the child was in the care of his grandparents when he was taken without their knowledge.
On Sunday Sergeant Hains said the man had "contacted police and he has contacted relatives, however, those calls have been terminated.
"Obviously, a nine-week-old infant requires specialist care, requires regular feeding, requires warmth, it requires nappy changes."
Police are still investigating whether Mr Gordon broke into the house and whether his actions were pre-planned.
