Courts and tribunals will have more accurate details about criminals who reoffend while on bail when a new information management system is brought in early next year, the ACT's attorney-general says.

The Barr government shot down the ACT opposition's bid for a review into the territory's bail laws in the assembly on Wednesday.
Attorney-General Gordon Ramsay said the ACT's bail laws were being constantly finessed and the government would "not fall into the trap of politicising tragedy".
"The ACT legislation is fundamentally different from Victoria's. While tragic, the recent events in Melbourne do not automatically call for a review in the ACT," Mr Ramsay said.
"Remanding people in custody should be used as a last resort in confined circumstances with a focus on reasonable and proportional risk management.
"We could [also] end recidivism by instituting life sentences for every crime and neither of these reactions are remotely acceptable in a community that values human rights."
However Mr Ramsay acknowledged it was a problem that the ACT did not have statistics on the bail crime rate.
"The current system used by the law courts and tribunals does not generate reports indicating the extent to which people on bail have reoffended or otherwise breached their bail conditions," Mr Ramsay said.
"The new integrated case management system, the ICMS, which is due to be implemented in 2018 for criminal cases will support the production of more detailed reports and the government has asked the feasibility of such reports be examined as part of the development of the ICMS."
Justice minister Shane Rattenbury said a more important focus for the government was reducing recidivism rates by 25 per cent by 2025, as set out in the parliamentary agreement.
He said a bail support system to reduce the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on remand would be trialled later this year.
"Bail is more complex than the black and white dichotomy often presented in political debates," Mr Rattenbury said.
"If we reduce recidivism we are reducing the amount of crime in the community and that is something clearly designed to make our community safer."
The Canberra Liberals shadow attorney-general Jeremy Hansen had called for the bail law review in response to the Bourke Street tragedy in Melbourne.
But the city's legal community warned against a "hasty response" to an ongoing case in a very different jurisdiction.
