A Belconnen woman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving with an illegal drug in her system, claiming her prescription medication had led to a wrong positive reading.

Jane Lacey Weaver, 33, was charged with driving with methylamphetamine in her saliva after being tested by police on Friday.
She was also charged with two offences for the use of an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.
Duty defence lawyer Jacob Robertson said Weaver had been prescribed dexamphetamine by her doctor.
The court heard the defendant has two earlier charges for similar drug offences, listed for February 5, and has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
"She strenuously denies [the drug charges]; she does not take illicit drugs," Mr Robertson said.
Mr Robertson said the defendant suffered from severe anxiety she would not be able to drive whenever she took the medication, which would impact her employment prospects.
Prosecutor Chamil Wanigaratne said laboratory test results from Friday's sample were yet to be provided.
Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker released Weaver on bail on an undertaking to appear on December 18.
Weaver entered no plea to the vehicle offences.
