The woman's body was discovered in the river about 2.40pm.
The body has not been formally identified, but police believe it to be a woman in her 60s, who was reported missing on Monday.
Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery, but do not believe the death is suspicious. Officers established a crime scene, and specialist forensic officers were called in yesterday afternoon.
A post-mortem will be conducted to establish a cause of death.
