Boy slips, falls 50 metres down Mount Ainslie

The Emergency Services Agency said the child and his family were from Victoria and in Canberra on holiday.

ACT Fire anf Rescue firefighters and ACT Ambulance paramedics rescued the boy by placing him on a stretcher, attaching ropes and pulling him to the top where an ambulance was parked.

The boy sustained facial injuries and was taken to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

It was the family's first day in Canberra and Mount Ainslie was the first place they visited, an Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said.
