Dillon Ogilvie, 20, and another man decided to break into the Sports Club Kaleen in June last year.

They took a stolen Ford Econovan to the club, owned by Eastlake Football Club, and did a lap of the carpark.

The van then quickly reversed toward the fence of the outdoor smoking area, destroying one side.

The two men got out and smashed a glass door, but failed to open it from the outside.

CCTV footage shows them getting back inside the van and fleeing the scene, before dumping the car on Athllon Drive in Mawson.

The next day, Ogilvie smashed through the front door of Woden Tyre and Exhaust in Phillip, taking a cash register and a black Holden Commodore ute that had been left in the workshop.

He hid the cash register in a roof cavity at his home, and dumped the ute at the Woden Trash and Treasure car park in Phillip. The $200 he found in the register was said to have been spent on drugs.

Police arrested him two days later on outstanding warrants, and seized his shoes, which matched those identified in CCTV recordings of the Kaleen burglary.

His home was searched, and police found the cash register and clothing matching that worn by the offender.

Forensics later matched glass fragments found in his jumper to those at the Kaleen crime scene.

Ogilvie initially denied any involvement in either crime, although made admissions to police about the Phillip burglary a week later.

He was due to face trial in the ACT Supreme Court next week. But he appeared before Chief Justice Helen Murrell on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to five offences, including burglary, aggravated burglary, drive motor vehicle without consent, and theft.

Ogilvie will be sentenced at a later date.
