A new five-storey car park at Calvary Hospital will open early next year with the ACT government assuring it will be free for staff and patients.

The car park opposite the main entrance to the hospital will provide 704 parking spaces with 21 spaces designated for disabled access.
At a ceremony on Wednesday morning, ACT Health Minister Simon Corbell said $17 million car park would allow Calvary Hospital to expand in coming years.
"Calvary Private is going to expand here and improve private hospital facilities and help take pressure off our public hospital system."
Mr Corbell said the project would be delivered on time and on budget.
The new private hospital has been slated to open in 2017 and is expected to pave the way for public health services at the Bruce campus to be expanded.
Earlier this year, Calvary Health Bruce chief executive Karen Edwards said the new private facility was likely to be a 100-bed stand-alone hospital.
Ms Edwards said the existing private hospital would be relocated to the new building, which would increase bed capacity in Calvary public hospital.
"While there is still further work to be completed the topping out of the car park means the project is well on track to open next year," Mr Corbell said.
"The additional parking will assist patients and their families and carers as well as staff and contractors who keep our healthcare services running."
The $16.8 million construction by contractors ADCO Construction has provided work for more than 250 contractors and staff.
The car park includes external butterfly ramps on the eastern and western ends of the structure as well as lifts.
Boom gates with freestanding shelters at the entrance and exit will not be installed when the car park is initially opened, but are included in the design.
This design includes power and communications conduits from the switch-room to ticket payment machines at the pedestrian entry and exit.
There is also allowance for phone line connection to facilitate payment for parking with eftpos and credit cards.
Ms Edwards said the new university hospital would provide sub-acute services, which were not proposed as as part of the new Calvary private hospital.
She said a new private hospital would help cope with increased demand on the territory's health system expected to be created by future growth and planned development and expansion in the north of Canberra.
