With some of Australia's largest music acts descending on Canberra for Groovin The Moo on Sunday, many will be well accustomed to playing on a large festival stage.

However, for several ACT music acts, this will be the biggest stage and audience of their careers.
Canberra-based producer Ryan Fennis and indie four-piece Slow Turismo will be making their festival debut this weekend, performing alongside acts including Violent Soho, Dillon Francis and UK band The Wombats.
Fennis said his inclusion on the line up was still sinking in.
"It doesn't feel real. It's been a goal of mine to play at this event since I started producing, so for it to actually happen is crazy," he said.
"I guess the main difference between Groovin The Moo and other shows I've played is the audience size, but I also feel like there's more freedom to play whatever I want."
The 19-year-old has been producing for the past five years and is a regular face at Canberra night club Mr Wolf performing DJ sets.
While he said he started out playing guitar when he was younger, he was inspired to take up producing after seeing acts on YouTube.
"I used to think I wasn't able to pursue a music career in Canberra, but after seeing other local acts achieving on a national and sometimes international scale, it made me realise you can create those opportunities wherever you are," Fennis said.
Canberra band Slow Turismo made their way onto the set list after winning a Triple J competition for independent acts.
Vocalist and guitarist Sam Conway said after usually performing to crowds in pubs, this would be the band's largest performance.
"[Groovin The Moo] is usually one of the only opportunities for smaller regional artists to play such a large-scale festival that provides such a great opportunity," he said.
"We're used to playing to around 100 people in small pubs, so it will be a big change for us."
Conway said the band was "surprised" at their inclusion for the Canberra leg of the touring festival, which takes in regional areas such as Maitland and Townsville.
He said they were still fine-tuning their perfect set list.
"The set we're preparing is 20 minutes, so we have tried to keep it little more punchy while also being as dynamic as we can," Conway said.
"It can be difficult, though essentially we choose songs that we enjoy playing, combined with what we think will go down well for the gig."
Gates open for Groovin The Moo from 10.30am, with the event at Canberra University being sold out.
