Traffic banked up toward Queanbeyan during Canberra's peak hour after a crash at a busy Canberra Avenue intersection on Tuesday morning.

The two-car crash, at the intersection of Hindmarsh Drive at Fyshwick, closed a westbound lane on Canberra Ave as emergency services attempted to clear the vehicles from the busy road.

The crash occurred around 8.30am and one car was still blocking the road as of 9.05am, however traffic continued to flow, ACT Policing said.
The car was removed by 9.30am, and all lanes were reopened.
