An investigation has been launched by police into a string of Canberra burglaries in which two male offenders used axes to gain entry.

Six businesses across Canberra were broken into between 3am and 6am on Monday, with offenders taking large amounts of property and cash.
Police said the businesses targeted include Coco's Hair and The Knox Made in Watson, Edgar's Inn in Ainslie, The Yacht Club in Yarralumla as well as The Pedlar Cafe and Avenue C Wine Co in Campbell.
The Knox Made in Watson owner Daniel Conroy said he was glad nobody was working when the burglaries happened.
He said he and the staff were able to reopen the cafe on schedule the next morning.
"The important thing is that the staff were safe and we did what he had to do to open in the morning," he said.
"A few customers didn't even notice anything different in the morning, though the door was broken. People heard they were hitting everywhere that night."
In a statement, police said the offenders may be responsible for all six incidents.
"In at least one incident, two males used an axe to break a window of the property," an ACT Policing spokesman said.
Police are searching for an orange Ford or Holden Commodore V8, which is believed to have been used as a getaway car from the scene.
The first man is described as wearing a white t-shirt and jeans at the time of the burglaries.
The second was seen wearing a long-sleeve hoodie with a light-coloured hood as well as dark shorts and gloves.
