Christmas displays have been switching on across the city since December 1 and The Canberra Times and Canberra Milk are asking for your help to list all the festively dressed homes on one map.
Checking out the season's best lights is a tradition for some, but behind every display is a wonderful story and often hours of preparation.
This will be the sixth Christmas James Petterson has transformed his Bonner home into a symphony of light and colour to raise money for Legacy.
He has spent the year tinkering with his 2016 design.
More than 200 hours of programming and two months installing the 30,000 LED bulbs has all paid off with more people than ever out watching it on Elia Ware Crescent.
"It's a massive relief that it's all up and running," he said. "The smiles on people's faces and joy on the kids' faces make this all worth it."
The Santa sleigh, reindeer and a six-metre-high Christmas tree in the front yard are complemented by a festive mash-up rigged to project onto the garage door.
His 2015 display incorporated shuffling stormtroopers dancing to LMFAO's Party Rock and this year he continues the Star Wars theme with plenty of giggles too.
"A lot of it we created ourselves and the other parts are just funny," he said. "In All I Want for Christmas Darth Vader gets out of bed excited for Christmas morning, thinking Santa has left him a new saber sword but when he opens up the present it is a Peppa Pig doll."
