Oliver Mitchell Lloyd, 25, and Michaela Norris, 23, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court where both were granted bail.

In a statement outside court, police said they searched the Nicholls home on Thursday and found three kilograms of cannabis and more than $13,000 in cash.

Officers also seized property allegedly "supporting drug distribution" and a car as tainted property.

The couple were arrested.

Mr Lloyd, who is unemployed, and Ms Norris, a part-time waitress, were charged with joint commission traffic in trafficable quantity of cannabis.

They did not enter pleas.

Prosecutors originally sought a non-contact condition between the pair but their defence lawyer told the court that would be "unworkable" because Ms Norris had nowhere else to live.

Special Magistrate Margaret Hunter accepted that condition was not required, acknowledging that police had completed their search of the home, and that even if the couple did talk, there was a strong prosecution case.

The magistrate also observed that living in a parent's home while allegedly running a drug dealing business was "pretty unimpressive".

Ms Hunter released the pair on bail to return to the Nicholls bedroom after they agreed to report three times a week to police and forfeit $2000 if they did not appear at court.

The case returns to court on December 15.
