They are the Canberra couple who met in Cyprus while on United Nations peacekeeping duties, she with the Australian Federal Police; he with the Irish national police, the An Garda Siochana.

Now they are turning their focus to helping the families of AFP and state or territory-based police officers who have been killed or who have died while in service.
Almost 40 riders will travel across America's heartland on the famous Route 66, raising a target of $70,000 for police legacy schemes across the nation.
Police legacy, entirely volunteer-run, helps families with a range of services including bereavement support, financial assistance, support to legatee children through their school and beyond and social activities including school holiday camps.
The Australian police charity ride is modelled on a similar charity ride which raises money for Ireland's Temple Street Children's Hospital.
Ken Brennan, a 32-year veteran with Ireland's An Garda Siochana, helped organise the hospital ride and brought the idea to Australia.
The ride will take place in the US over 12 days in August, covering almost 4000kms, three time zones and eight states.
Ken is now based in Canberra where he is the chief executive officer of the Transport Industry Skills Centre at Majura.
His partner Louise McGregor is still with the AFP - 25 years in total - and now with Crime Operations in Canberra.
"I've been with the police service since I was 17 and I lost a close colleague when I was 21 or 22 and he had three young daughters in primary school," Louise said.
"So, Police legacy has always been something close to my heart.
Mr Brennan agreed: "Anyone who has seen the incredible support Police Legacy provides for our families appreciates its importance".
Two young women, each now aged 21, both police legatees, will be joining the ride.
Brittney Johnsen , had just turned 15 when her father, Commander Mark Johnsen, died of cancer in 2010. She will turn 22 on the trip. Brittney will be joined by another legatee, Kefi Faupula, who will be wearing the jacket of her father, ACT officer, Jonny, who passed away from cancer in 2015.
Brittney said one of the saddest, yet proudest moments of her life was receiving her father's police medals at his funeral which was attended by 1000 people.
"That incredible show of support made us realise so many people cared about our dad, and soon after this, AFP Legacy came into our lives and took our family under their wing," Brittney said.
