Canberra man's $1 million Monday Lotto windfall

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, plans to pay off his mortgage and realise a long-held dream to start a business.

"This is so surreal," he said.

"Paying off the mortgage is first on the list. I'll then use the rest to set up my dream business – something that will benefit both my family and the community. We've always wanted to do it. Now we can."

The six winning numbers for Monday's draw were 21, 22, 42, 27, 20 and 35. The supplementary numbers were 3 and 2.

It was the man's second win in a week, the first a little more measured than the second.

"I won $22.25 in Saturday Lotto, which I thought was pretty good. To hear now that I've won $1 million is mind-blowing," he said.

His mix of numbers mean he will also take home a $533 division three prize.

Gungahlin Centre News owner Rudy Lu was thrilled to learn he had sold another division one winning ticket.

"This is wonderful news for our customer," Mr Lu said.

"We've been a very lucky newsagency. In three and a half years of business, we've sold four top prize."

A customer of the Hibberson Street newsagency was the sole winner of Powerball's $50 million jackpot in May 2015.

Another customer went home with $1 million after winning division one in December 2014.

And the newsagency sold a $200,000 first prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot.
