She was previously director at Artspace Mackay and has a broad range of experience both within and outside arts organisations.
Her particular focus is on working for not-for-profit entities that align with her values and where she is able to make a significant contribution to the local, national and international cultural landscape.
Glassworks chairman Michael Snare says Skate was committed to the advancement of the arts in Australia.
"She brings highly effective communication skills and a proven ability to set direction and implement strategies to deliver positive outcomes. We are delighted to have her on board."
She will commence with the Glassworks on November 28, 2017.
