It might be cold outside, but the Canberra Glassworks will be glowing red on Saturday night when it celebrates Kingston Power House's 100-year birthday.

General manager Beverly Growden said the building will be lit up for the first time as part of the inaugural Winter Glass Market beginning at 4pm with hand-crafted lights for sale in the foyer from internationally-renowned glass artists.
"In the engine room there will be a red glow from within," she said.
"The place will look really different.
"It's going to be minus 5 outside so we're suggesting people rug up in their winter best."
And the precinct is likely to sound different for visitors and nearby residents when the steam whistle, used for workers during its former life as a powerhouse will sound at 8.30pm.
Outside a winter glow garden will light up the garden bed near the historic smokestack and visitors will enjoy live glassmaking including local artist Sui Jackson's wood-fired glass furnace which will be fired for the first time and will even be able to try glass making for themselves.
Music, food and drinks will round out the free event, with Brodburger bringing its Broddogs southside for the first time.
Ms Growden said the glassworks had been overwhelmed with 32 "amazing" items for its fundraising silent auction.
"It potentially has the capacity to give us a financial burst with all the money going to create a fellowship to support artists," she said.
