Isabel Matthews, Alex Williams and Sally Witchalls will head to Higashikawa in the north of the country for the International High School Students' Photo Festival in the first week of August.

Entering as a group, the three ladies each provided two photos to the theme of, 'the things you are proud of in your town'.

Their shots ranged from quintessential Lake Burley Griffin pictures, to Australian animals, and Isabel captured the colourfully-lit floating installation at this year's Enlighten, with the National Carillon in the background.

In Japan, the trio will get to mingle and attend photography sessions with students from countries all over the world including Latvia, Uzbekistan, Canada and Malaysia. The best snaps they take in Japan will go head-to-head with the other students in the final competition.

Former Married at First Sight contestant James Webster was spotted around town this week.

According to his Instagram posts, the former Canberran visited his parents' olive farm just outside of town, did a bit of work and watched the State of Origin at Meating Room in Woden.

Since the finale of the show aired almost a month ago, it was confirmed that his TV wife Michelle Worsley has already married former boyfriend Rob Worsley.

During the 'social experiment', James mentioned he'd swapped Canberra for Sydney to try and find love.

And it seems the 37-year-old signwriter is still well and truly on the market, spotted by multiple sources on a certain dating app.

What's On

- If you're looking for some free indoor fun to escape the cold, the Canberra Centre has Saturday kids workshops for the next two weeks. On July 11, kids can decorate their own bike bell from 11am-1pm near Trenery on level 1. And on July 18, there will be a cupcake decorating session in the food court near City Walk from 11am-1pm. Both are free with no bookings required.

- On August 1 and 2, Malkara Specialist School in Garran is holding its annual model railway exhibition. The event, now in its 43rd year, is the major fundraiser for the school which caters to students with significant intellectual disabilities. There will also be food and drinks, plus live entertainment. Open 9am-5pm on the Saturday and 9am-4pm on the Sunday. Wisdom Street, Garran. - Men can play roller derby too. On July 11, the first Varsity Derby League's men's team, Capital Carnage will play Light City Sabres from Adelaide. There will also be mixed games, live music and food. Doors open at 3pm, game starts at 4pm. Southern Cross Basketball Stadium, Tuggeranong.
