ACT Health is running an Ebola treatment exercise at Calvary and Canberra hospitals.
An actor will simulate ebola symptoms during the eight-hour training exercise, and hospital and ambulance employees will be dressed in protective gear.
Minister for Health Simon Corbell said the training was designed to ensure the preparedness of ACT Health staff to identify and treat suspected Ebola cases.
"ACT Health is committed to maintaining a high degree of preparedness by regularly practising and validating emergency response arrangements," Mr Corbell said.
"It is vital that agencies test these management plans in a realistic situation with real people. This exercise will not only strengthen our response to any potential Ebola case but also to other possible infectious-disease outbreaks."
Members of the public will not be at any risk during the exercise and signs will be displayed at both hospitals.
Mr Corbell said special measures had been taken to ensure patient and participant safety. He said the exercise would not affect other hospital operations.
