Mohamed Nchucki, 36, said he was "a drug addict in denial" when police seized the illicit substances, weapons and ammunition during a search of his Chisholm property and a car in November 2014.

Nchucki pleaded not guilty to three drug trafficking offences and charges of possessing an illegal weapon, and faced trial before a judge in the ACT Supreme Court.

Police found about 137 grams of cocaine, about 57 grams of methylamphetamine and 86 MDMA pills in bags in the raid. Prosecutors said they also seized more than $7000 cash, two Taser-like devices, scales, a cocaine snorter and bullets.

Some of the drugs were sorted into small amounts in separate bags and officers also discovered dozens of unused clip seal bags with motifs of skulls and Ned Kelly on them.

A flick knife and more than $5000 cash were found in the pockets of Nchucki's work pants in the laundry.

Nchucki admitted the drugs were in his possession in a police interview. His guilt or innocence at trial hinged on whether the court was convinced he intended to sell the drugs, or would have used them himself.

His lawyers argued Nchucki was a heavy drug user who possessed the drugs entirely for his own use, while prosecutors said he was both a buyer and seller of drugs.

Police estimated the drugs had a combined street value of more than $50,000.

In his evidence, Nchucki said he was an addict who began using drugs as a teenager and used a variety of illicit substances.

He had sought treatment for drug dependence and one doctor who treated him suggested he suffered undiagnosed attention deficit disorder and took the drugs to self-medicate.

Prosecutor Jane Campbell had argued the accused was "a most unimpressive witness" who was "generally evasive" when asked about his drug use and a poor historian. She argued he tailored his evidence to exaggerate his personal drug use.

Defence barrister Jack Pappas pointed to Nchucki's early comments to police when he told them the raid was "a wake-up call" and said he'd never heard an accused drug trafficker describe the arrival of police as "a good thing".

"It's clear this man is no Mensa candidate. Everything he said to police, in broad brush terms, was accurate."

In a judgement handed down this week, Acting Justice David Robinson noted there was no direct evidence of drug supply, or unexplained wealth or lifestyle. Nchucki's phone, computer and iPad were examined and showed "everyday activity".

But he said the value of the drugs and the presence of weapons and cash supported the accusation Nchucki sold drugs.

"The evidence of trafficking in drugs derives from the accused being in possession of the implements or accoutrements of the trade of a drug dealer."

Acting Justice Robinson found many of Nchucki's explanations for having the drugs and weapons were not credible and said he was "not attempting to answer the questions put in cross examination honestly and in a straight forward manner".

"I am sure that his testimony, including his estimates of his own consumption of drugs and his expenditure on drugs was given to fit, as best he could make them, the objective facts found upon the execution of the warrants and the financial records in the hands of the Crown prosecutor."

The judge convicted Nchucki on all charges, as well as a charge of possessing a flick knife. Nchucki had pleaded guilty to that charge.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
