The man who died in a head-on crash on a notorious road near the NSW Riverina town of Tumut on Sunday was a 67-year-old from Canberra.

NSW Police confirmed an Aranda man, who was driving a Toyota RAV4, died at the scene of the smash, which happened on Gocup Road about 8.40am.
His passenger, a 48-year-old Dickson man, was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
The sole occupant of the other car, a dual cab ute, was taken by ambulance to Wagga Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Their current conditions are unknown.
A NSW Police spokesperson said an investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing.
Gocup Road is a notorious two-lane road between Gundagai and Tumut, which locals have previously described to Fairfax Media as a "death trap".
The NSW government has completed $65.9 million worth of upgrades since 2012, largely focused on widening and strengthening the road.
Another $3 million phase of works began in January.
