A desire to understand how the world works and a passion to improve it are the common traits that have driven the ACT's equal top students to keep on learning.
For Keeley Hoek and Ethan Beaumont, that focus has brought the bonus of gaining the highest possible Australian Tertiary Admission Rank of 99.95.
Radford College recorded the highest median ATAR, followed by Canberra Girls' Grammar and Trinity Christian School.

Everything looked great for Carl Valeri after he won two trophies in his first season playing professionally in Australia with Melbourne Victory, was appointed captain of the powerhouse club in his second season and led them to the FFA Cup last month.

- Sydney Sixers player Ryan Carters is happy to concentrate on making an impact with the bat, the Canberra product to hand the wicketkeeping gloves to retired star Brad Haddin for the Big Bash League.

9.13am: A crash between a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Gould and Moore Streets in Turner should be clearing soon. Tow trucks are on site. Paramedics are there too, but no serious injuries reported.
8.57am: A two-vehicle smash has completely blocked the intersection of Gould and Moore Streets in Turner. Moore Street runs parallel to Northbourne Avenue but traffic flowing smoothly there. Avoid the area.
8.54am: Looks like there's been a prang on Moore and Gould Streets in Turner. Look out if you're headed that way.

As soon as Nate Korbl walks on to the playground of St John the Apostle Primary School in Florey, he is swamped by friends.
The noisy, boisterous, exuberant atmosphere of a school playground doesn't faze the five-year-old at all, having come a long way after being diagnosed with mild to moderate hearing loss.
