Indonesia's President Joko Widodo refused clemency for the Bali nine duo facing execution without all the documentation of their cases due to the chaotic handover to his office from his predecessor, Fairfax can reveal.
The Indonesian government has also warned it does not respond to threats when Prime Minister Tony Abbott reminded the nation of Australia's $1 billion in aid after the 2004 tsunami on Wednesday.
- The ACT Government will push ahead with plans to build 1100 apartments on Northbourne Avenue, despite a Heritage Council decision protecting about half of the run down public housing estate built in the 1950s and 1960s. Meanwhile, the ACT government will deliver three new public housing sites in the territory to replace the first dwellings lost to redevelopment along the proposed light rail corridor.
- The Abbott government is considering abandoning the Australian census and replacing it with a smaller sample survey in order to save money.
- The ACT Assembly's commissioner for standards, retired Supreme Court judge Ken Crispin, looks likely to investigate the Joy Burch Menslink affair.
- David Hicks has won his challenge to his terrorism conviction before a military court at the US Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
- ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr will table new laws today to allow tenants and landlords to break leases on Mr Fluffy houses.
- In the courts, an employer has lost an appeal against a workers compensation win awarded to a former Calvary hospital contractor who had a break down after being accused of bullying, while a man who allegedly punched his pregnant girlfriend's stomach has been granted conditional permission to be in hospital for the child's birth.

Bangladesh has beaten Afghanistan by 105 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup match at Manuka Oval last night.
It was a Bangladesh victory that ruined dreams of an Afghanistan fairytale, but it was a win that will have the Tigers confident they can pull off a repeat of their upset win over Australia from a decade ago.
While the game fizzled out, the atmosphere was electric until the end - the Afghanis beat their drums and the Bangladeshis screamed and jumped around in a sellout crowd of 10,972.

A petition to keep the Australian Women's Basketball League on ABC television will be hand-delivered to the Canberra ABC office in Dickson at 7.30am.
Organisers are promising "past, present and future basketball and Olympic greats" will be there. Superstar Lauren Jackson has previously described the ABC's decision to cut TV coverage of women's basketball and soccer as a "very dark day for women's sport".
Comedian Billy Connolly brings his High Horse Tour to town tonight at the National Convention Centre from 8pm.
Over at Theatre 3 Canberra Repertory Society will perform witty comedic play The Importance of Being Earnest, also at 8pm.

An exercise physiology student with plans for further study and an actor, singer and dancer who is still in year 12 have been announced as the Faces of Fashfest for 2015.
Ken Scruton, 21, and Hannah Clare McKenzie, 17, were chosen from the almost 300 people who attended the model casting on February 2.
