There will be night time roadworks on Fairbairn Avenue and Morshead Drive due to construction works related to the Majura Parkway project. Road closures will now be in place between 6.30pm and 5am each night until 5am Saturday.

Fairbairn Avenue will be closed between the Northcott Drive roundabout and Majura Road. Morshead Drive will be closed between Fairbairn Avenue and Pialligo Avenue.

Work has also started on a series of road safety improvements on Yamba Drive in Mawson, O'Malley, Farrer and Isaacs.

Canberra's Nepalese community will hold a vigil in Garema Place tonight to mourn those lost in the devastating earthquake and raise funds.

The African Children's Choir Concert will feature the voices of orphaned and vulnerable children aged from 8-11 years from the disadvantaged Kampala and Luwero areas of Uganda. The concert is on at Canberra Girls Grammar at 7pm. Tickets available here.

It's a love letter to a dying wife, a masterpiece of dance from an American choreographer described as a "living legend" who very rarely allows the piece to be performed without his stewardship.

So for Rafael Bonachela, it was a "dream come true" when William Forsythe agreed to let the Sydney Dance Company perform his much-lauded 1994 dance work Quintett – the first time it's been performed in Australia.
