The temperature has dropped below freezing point for the first time in Canberra this year, and forecasters warn we're in for a chilly week.

Bureau of Meteorology data shows the mercury fell to -0.1 degrees overnight into Monday, beating the previous 2018 low of 0.7 degrees on May 1.
Bureau forecaster Anita Titmarsh said after a warm day last Friday, when the temperature never dropped below 11 degrees, a high pressure system had cooled things down over the weekend.
"High pressure systems typically bring clear skies and light winds, which allow the surface of the Earth to cool down a lot," she said.
"In the next few days, expect similar conditions. We've got that high pressure system lingering until Tuesday and Wednesday."
Ms Titmarsh said a cold front was then due to arrive in the ACT this Thursday or Friday, bringing with it a chance of snow on alpine peaks.
"There's a chance that will actually make the overnight temperature a bit warmer, though, because of the cloud cover," she said.
The bureau is forecasting a 90 per cent chance of rain on Friday and Saturday, with a high of just 11 degrees on Friday.
The traditional "Anzac Day rule" was largely ignored in Canberra this year, as an unseasonably warm start to autumn had residents questioning not whether to turn the heaters on, but whether to turn the pool's solar heater off.
Last month was the hottest April in the capital for 75 years, with an overall average temperature of 25 degrees - about 5 degrees warmer than the usual April average.
The temperature cracked 30 degrees twice during April, with the current May high coming on Thursday, when it reached 24.5 degrees.
