The sunny conditions in the capital over Good Friday and Easter Saturday are set to continue into Easter Monday.
Canberra is forecast for a partly cloudy day on Sunday, with the mercury rising to 29 degrees, while on Monday the temperature will climb into the 30s in a late burst of summer.
Meteorologist Jordan Notara from the Bureau of Meteorology said it would be a hot start to April.
"For Sunday and Monday temperatures, we'll be seeing above average temperatures for the start of April in Canberra," he said.
"By Tuesday, the temperature will drop down to the mid-20s for the later part of the week."
Canberra's minimum temperature will drop into single figures on Thursday and Friday, but not as cold as the 3 degrees experienced last week.
"As we get closer towards winter, we are trending towards cooler mornings for Canberra," Mr Notara said.
The start of autumn has been particularly dry for the national capital, along with large parts of south-eastern Australia.
Weatherzone meteorologist Angus McLean-Smith said the first month of autumn in Canberra was similar to conditions seen in NSW and Victoria.
"The ACT has also experienced a dry start to autumn," he said.
"The last time Canberra saw March rainfall totals this low was back in 2004, with just 14 per cent of the monthly average having been collected."
Little rainfall is expected in Canberra this week, with only a 30 per cent chance of showers on Friday of up to 0.5mm.
The bureau said there was an equal chance the ACT would receive below or above average rainfall during April.
