Many will be threading rainbow laces through their shows as a sign of solidarity.
In Canberra, those getting behind the initiative range from the Brumbies to the Gungahlin United Football Club to Member for Fenner Andrew Leigh who will be wearing rainbow laces when he runs the Canberra marathon on Sunday.
The Gungahlin United Football Club will be sending its National Premier League players out wearing rainbow laces.
And Gungahlin Enclosed Oval will be festooned with rainbow-coloured balloons including during the Women's Premier League game at 3pm on Sunday.
