ACTION bus services will operate on a special Christmas and New Year schedule from Monday, December 21, until Friday, January 8, using a combination of holiday and Sunday timetables.
The Territory and Municipal Services Directorate said on Friday that special Christmas Day services will run on 14 bus routes, including the 900 route from Belconnen to the city, Woden and Tuggeranong, and the 950 route between Gungahlin and the city.
Buses will run on the holiday timetable from December 21 until December 24. Sunday timetables will be in place on Boxing Day, December 27 and December 28.
Holiday timetables will return for December 29, December 30 and New Year's Eve, before Sunday timetables operate on New Year's Day, January 2 and January 3.
Holiday timetables will run on January 4-8, and normal services will resume from January 9.
Christmas and New Year's revellers can use ACTION's Nightrider special services to get home to all Canberra suburbs from midnight on the weekends of December 4 and 5, December 11 and 12 and December 18 and 19.
Nightrider services will also run on New Year's Eve. The service takes passengers to the bus stop closest to their house and costs passengers $5 cash. MyWay cards are not accepted.
