ANCA Gallery: Hoods. A group exhibition in which each artist reflects directly on their surroundings and urban environment to uncover thought provoking and engaging artworks. Beaver Galleries: Studio glass. A collection of works by artist Nicole Ayliffe that capture the illusion of space by emphasising the reflection and refraction of light between surfaces. Bungendore Fine Art: Wild. A joint exhibition featuring works from Lyn Randall and Ian Sharpe. Lyn combines vibrant images of photography highlighted with water media whilst Ian showcases his interpretation of "wild expressions" of contemporary art. Gallery@bcs: Ngadhi Dabaamlang. An exhibition by Duncan Smith and his family, showing how family share their different styles of painting and how the younger members interpret the knowledge handed down from the elder. M16 Artspace: Underneath Tomorrow. An exhibition exploring the subconscious imagination. The works all share elements of processing memories, childhood experiences and family myths. 6 Cubic Centimeters. A drawing exhibition by Manuel Pfeiffer that documents his experience with prostate cancer. The work encompasses the artist's fears, thoughts and reactions associated with his diagnosis. The Photography Room: What Comes to Mind. In this exhibition Dörte Conroy creates small-scale, transitory sculptures, with the specific intention of turning them into permanent photographs. Enigma. Lorna Sim's exhibition centres on a journey into a world of ambiguity, contradiction and open-mindedness, discarding time, gender, space and what is familiar. Absence of Sunshine. Photographs from the late Maurice Weidmann depicting theatre productions from Canberra in the 1980's, revealing the capital's rich artistic heritage. All until June 25. Tuggeranong Arts Centre: Bird Life. A curated group exhibition exploring the human connection to birds, and how they capture our imagination. An Episode. Smiths Alternative: Crooners. Jazz sensations Bernie and the Mere Cats return to Smith's Alternative for a series of Saturday sessions of jazz. Bernie, Bobbi and Peggy will sing all their greatest original jazz hits, while Trixie tinkles the ivories and Donnie walks the double bass. Tickets $15/$10. Saturday, June 17. 5.30pm.
