Canberra's very own The Stevenson Experience will appear on the nation's television screens on Wednesday, December 20 as part of the Summer Stand-Up Series - a comedy special on Channel 11.
It's a whole hour of high-energy, musical comedy performance by identical twins, Benjamin and James Stevenson.
"It's a little bit of narrative, a bit of theatre as well, [but] mostly stand-up comedy and an hour shock full of laughs," James said.
Despite being featured on Channel 10 and ABC television in the past, this will be the first time the duo have a whole hour to themselves.
"We're unbelievably excited - it's an amazing opportunity … every other spot we've done, or appeared on in different shows have been a five to 10 minute kind of appearance," James said.
"So this is us getting to show everyone our full show, what we do as a whole. So that's super exciting and I'm pumped."
James and Benjamin have always loved comedy, honing their talents at various school events and eventually at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Their musical abilities came later on, while finding their style of comedy, with James learning the guitar and Benjamin learning the piano.
"It takes quite a while to find your own voice and be different," James said.
"And now, we are very different stylistically from our original ambitions, but the music is a great fit for our energy and our style.
"It allows us both to play and be doing something, and be involved in the performance as well. But comedy is always number one for us."
The brothers spend so much time together, but believe their relationship is what makes their shows.
"It's got its ups and downs… but basically, we work together and we live together. So we are constantly, 24/7 with each other," James said.
"I think it's quite good because you get that relationship and that comes across very much on the stage – how close we are and how well we know each other. It really helps with our timing, our joke writing, we know what each other's thinking."
While each year the brothers perform more than 100 shows, to more than 20,000 people nationally and internationally, pre-show jitters are a still regular occurrence.
"We always get jitters, but it's kind of healthy… When we're doing new shows that are just starting, once we've run the show a couple of times, we get more comfortable," James said.
"But brand new shows, all nerves are to the roof, every single time. It doesn't matter if it's 50 people or 2000 people, it's exactly the same."
Both Benjamin and James are also the founders and associate directors of the ACT's biggest comedy event, the Canberra Comedy Festival.
