Three Mills Bakery and Capital Brewing Co teamed up recently to create a cherry pie porter for Christmas - the beer has just come on tap at Capital's Fyshwick Brewery.

And now more local producers are getting in on the cherry porter action.
Doughnut Department is making a special batch of Cherry Pie Porter doughnuts and Hungry Brown Cow is making Cherry Pie Porter cookie sandwiches, both using Capital's special brew.
They will all be available at Capital's Christmas Night Markets on Wednesday night, with proceeds from the sales of both going to a children's charity. And $1 from the sale of every glass of beer will also be donated.
The limited release beer has actual cherry pies from Three Mills Bakery thrown into the mash, and is only available until supplies run out.
Capital's Christmas Night Markets are on at the brewery Wednesday December 6 from 5-11pm. There will be handcrafted gifts from local producers for sale, live music, food, and of course, beer. You can also take a gift and non-perishable food items to donate under the giving tree for children in need. See capitalbrewing.co/blogs/news.
And the cherry pie porter has been used as part of Capital's new barrel-ageing program, using wine barrels from local wineries Lark Hill and Wiley Trout. The porter will be aged in shiraz oak casks for 12 months and released next Christmas.
