Canberra Institute of Technology were approached by Floriade about styling the tent for the duration of the month-long festival, with the brief to "create an atmosphere of shabby chic, country feel". And the result is a hipster's dream.
Floristry teacher Hazel Davies said all of the items were salvaged from the tip or even the side of the road, and worked into the final display by 10 floristry students.
Taking pride of place in the display is this old piano, found at The Green Shed, with its front removed, strings on display and carefully decorated with native blooms.
The team of floristry students will tend to the flowers, changing them and keeping them in tip-top condition until the end of Floriade on October 16.
