Property developers donated more than $43,000 to the Labor and Liberal parties in the three and a half months prior to the ACT election, according to financial disclosure figures.

But the controversial donations, which will be banned if the government follows through with a pre-election pledge, made up only a fraction of the more than $500,000 gifted to the ACT's political parties in the final months before the poll.
Seven parties and independent Kim Huynh have declared a combined $509,697 in donations so far, all received since July 1.
Loans, campaign costs and event tickets contributed to the parties, combined with donations, brought the figure to just over $934,000 in the three and a half months before the election.
The Canberra Liberals received the highest amount from donations, disclosing $242,342 since the start of the financial year.
Of that, $95,000 came from Forrest couple Craig and Eva Edwards, who donated to the party based on their opposition to the light rail proposal and perceived developer influence on the government.
Four ClubsACT donations worth a combined $115,000 pushed minor party Canberra Community Voters into second place for donations, ahead of Labor's $104,335.
About half of donations to Labor came from unions and affiliates, such as the CFMEU's ACT branch ($38,000), United Voice ($6000), the Transport Workers' Union ($5000) and Emily's List ($2500).
When factoring in a $350,000 loan from Labor's investment vehicle, the 1973 Foundation, as well as room hire, campaign material and event tickets, the party's arsenal of reported gifts topped the list at $479,534, compared to $246,142 for the Liberals.
Geocon chief executive Nick Georgalis contributed $10,000 to Labor, 16 days before Chief Minister Andrew Barr announced the plan to ban donations from property developers.
The company contributed $10,990 to the Liberals' warchest on the same day.
Other donors to the party included Village Building Co ($2995) and Englobo ($1980).
Both Labor and the Greens went to the election promising to ban donations from property developers and was a key plank of their power-sharing agreement in late October.
The details of the legislation have not been released, but Mr Barr said the government would consider further investigating public funding for elections.
Opposition Leader Alistair Coe said the Liberals had not yet reached a final decision on the donation reforms, but expressed concern over creating a "class" of people prohibited from donating and called for a committee to examine the proposed legislation.
The Greens received $23,800 in donations during the same period, all from private citizens.
The value of donations received by Labor and the Canberra Liberals in the months before this election was far higher than during the same period before the 2012 election, when a $10,000 cap still existed.
In the three and a half months prior to that election, Labor received just $21,150, while the Liberals received $89,969.
Public funding to parties for their election results has not yet been released, but the two major parties are each expected to receive about $700,000.
