It's not just the big snowfields staying open for longer this year, Corin Forest has announced that it is extending its snow season and will be open for the first week of the ACT school holidays next week.

The ongoing overnight snowfalls and perfect snowmaking conditions have made this possible.
Owner and managing director of Corin Forest Dane Liepins said opening into the September holidays was a first in many years for the ACT's snowfield.
"Snow depths are nearing two metres in areas of our two large snowfields," he said.
"Spring conditions can change quickly, but with record snow conditions and a cold outlook, we are pumped to bring snow to the people of Canberra throughout September."
He hopes the season can be extended even further to the end of the ACT school holidays, depending on the conditions.
"We have at least enough snow until Monday the 2nd of October, and if we can, we will push through," Mr Liepins said.
"But it is springtime, anything can happen. A really large rain event or a really hot heatwave would affect the conditions but, we are very confident."
Snowplay will operate every day until October 2, with "ski and ride", using snowboards and skis, available Friday to Sunday during this time.
Corin Forest has about 0.5 hectares of space for beginner skiers and snowboarders and has two snowplay areas about the size of a football field, which are suitable for all ages.
