Downed powerlines were believed to have knocked out electricity in some parts of Dickson however ActewAGL attributed the outage to a faulty cable.
The possibility of an electrical threat or power lines down in Dickson was first reported by emergency services shortly after 9am on Dooring Street.
ActewAGL issued a warning around 45 minutes later advising residents of a power outage.
A spokeswoman said the company was unaware of reports of downed powerlines but had received three phone calls from residents regarding the power outage.
The power was restored at 11.15am.
