The program was started by Dr Roly Bigg of the Movement Disorder Foundation, with the Rotary clubs of the Southern Highlands and the Bradman Foundation.
The aim was to provide primary school students from years three to six with special needs an opportunity to play specially-adapted cricket activities
In Canberra, the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise and the Rotary E-Club of Brindabella help run clinics in schools and are also holding a DreamCricket gala day at Kingston Oval on Thursday, March 23.
They are hoping more schools with children with a range of disabilities and special needs sign up for the festival or for future clinics.
The Rotary clubs' fundraising covers the entire cost of the program, including a $600 kit of equipment, which is kept by the school, so that participation is free to the students.
Volunteers run the clinics.
The gala day will be opened at 10am on March 23 by the Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove. The clubs will also provide a free medallion, hat, drink and snack to the children.

Mr Lyall said the impact of the program on children, some of whom have never played any sport before, had to be seen to be believed.
"The aim is to get them at a really young age to take part and do something," he said.
"It doesn't matter how well they do something, it matters that they do it.
"Too often, unfortunately, they are told they can't do something because they are disabled. And, the fact is, they can."
Rotary E-Club of Brindabella member Bruce Harvey, a past chairman of DreamCricket Australia, has been involved with the program for eight years.
"Oh, the kids love it," Mr Harvey said.
"It's worth it just to see the look on their faces. In many cases, the kids have not been involved in these sorts of activities before.
"They've seen it on TV and they have their sporting heroes but this is the first time they have been included."
The medallions at the gala day will be presented to the children by Aiden Blizzard from the ACT Comets and Sydney Thunder and Kriss Britt from the ACT Meteors and Melbourne Renegades about 2pm.
