The cloudy and dreary spring weather looks set to stick around until the middle of next week, but Canberra is not likely to receive any decent rain.

Canberra Airport has recorded just 3.8mm of rain for October so far, well below the monthly historical mean of 64mm.
Temperatures were below the October average of 19.4 degrees from Wednesday to Friday, with significant cloud cover and a few light showers.
Temperatures are expected to hit 19 degrees on Saturday, with the next day of sunshine likely on Friday with a top of 26 predicted.
The mean temperature for the month sits at 19.2 degrees, just below the historic October mean of 19.4 degrees.
While rain is expected every day until Thursday, most days Canberra should only receive a few millimetres, with the best chance of heavier rain on Wednesday.
While the temperatures should warm up a little bit next week, the overcast conditions should continue until Thursday.
BOM forecaster David Wilkie said the recent cooler weather was due to a front that came through about a week ago that brought easterly winds.
“With that there was a lot more cloud cover and widespread showers through the east coast,” he said.
And while that front brought significant rain to many parts of the east coast, Canberra has largely missed out.
Mr Wilkie said this was because the showers were coming off the coast and not penetrating far enough inland.
The cooler weather even saw a few centimetres of fresh powder at the ski resorts at Kosciuszko National Park, after the end of the ski season.
Mr Wilkie said there should be a similar weather pattern next week.
"[There] should be fairly similar conditions, a little bit cloudy," he said.
"[There are] potential showers throughout the week, Tuesday or Wednesday another front coming through.
"A similar situation with clouds streaming over and [Canberra] might get a shower or two there."
