According to Simone Annis from Switched on Cycles, eBikes have taken off in popularity in Canberra over recent years.
She said improvements in technology has meant eBikes are a convenient, cheaper and environmentally friendly alternative to driving.
Ms Annis, who has run her business for about eight years, said her customers were generally environmentally and health conscious who wanted an alternative way to commute to work.
"A lot of young people are really into them now," she said.
"You get some exercise but you get to control how much, which means you get to work without getting sweaty.
"In Canberra we've got quite long commutes from say Woden to Civic so eBikes are really appropriate for those longer commutes which are often a little bit far for people on normal bikes."
Switched on Cycles will be among hundreds of exhibitors to feature at the Canberra Home and Leisure Show from Friday.
The annual trade fair - held at Exhibition Park from Friday to Sunday - shows off the latest innovations and trends in camping, caravan, 4WD and other leisure activities.
It will also feature cooking demonstrations, kids activities, a fine food hall and Team D-Max for the adrenaline seekers. Entry is $15 for adults and $12 for concessions with free parking. Children under 16 enter for free
