Education Minister Christopher Pyne falls in taking hostages

The Minister for Education, Christopher Pyne, has tried everything possible to push university deregulation through the Senate. He has been prepared to negotiate everything, other than the principle of deregulation itself. Much of the original package has been abandoned on the way. The bargaining has been in the hope of finding support from small party senators, or independents, in the face of strong opposition from both Labor and the Greens.
