A Queanbeyan Police spokesman said officers were conducting stationary breath testing on Canberra Avenue when a 62-year-old Queanbeyan man was stopped and returned a positive result around 8pm.

A further breath analysis at the Queanbeyan Police Station returned a positive reading of 0.137 and the man was issued with a court notice for mid-range drink driving.

Around 10pm that evening, police saw the same vehicle on Munro Road in Queanbeyan.

Police stopped the car and the same driver was taken to the Queanbeyan Police Station after returning a second positive roadside breath test. Breath analysis returned a result of 0.098.

The man will face Queanbeyan Local Court on June 3 on two charges of midrange drink driving and one of driving while disqualified.

Police also issued a court notice for drink driving on ANZAC Day.

A Queanbeyan Police spokesman said a driver travelling on Rutledge Street failed to give way to another vehicle at a roundabout, almost causing a collision, around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Police stopped the driver, a 37-year-old Jerrabomberra man, who appeared to be affected by alcohol.

After returning a positive roadside breath test, the man was taken to Queanbeyan Police Station, where he recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.205.

The man will face Queanbeyan Local Court next month on charges of high range drink driving and driving while disqualified.

The court notices were among six issued by Queanbeyan Police for drink driving over the past two days.
