Clubs ACT has until Wednesday to pay tens of thousands of dollars to the ACT Electoral Commission after breaching the election spending cap last year.

The Electoral Commission has twice extended the payment deadline for the embattled industry group after it was hit with a $30,000 fine in April.
The penalty is the biggest ever issued by the commission.
Clubs ACT was one of three third-party campaigners fined for spending more than $40,000 during October's ACT election.
All three organisations had to pay twice the amount by which they overspent the cap to the territory, according to the Electoral Act 1992.
Clubs ACT spent about $56,000 in the lead up to last year's territory election, fighting the return of the Labor government, spurred by plans to break the clubs' monopoly on poker machines.
Its campaign failed and legislation to allow the casino to have poker machines too passed the ACT Legislative Assembly last week.
Deputy electoral commissioner Ro Spence said the commission gave Clubs ACT a one-month extension in May so the group could explain why it was "not liable" for the penalty.
"Subsequently, following a series of communications between Clubs ACT and the Electoral Commission, Clubs ACT have been provided with a payment date of 8 November 2017 in which to pay the penalty in relation to this matter," Mr Spence said.
No payment had been received from the group yet and there had been no talks about payment plans either.
If it defaults, the commission can take it to court.
Election expenditure caps have been in place since 2012.
The other third party campaigners that breached the cap last year had paid their fines, Mr Spence said.
The United Firefighters Union of Australia ACT branch overspent the cap by $697.40 and Trades Hall Building Limited overspent $1720.78.
Clubs ACT chief executive Gwyn Rees said the organisation would pay the fine by Wednesday, with the money "budgeted for".
It has been a trying year for Clubs ACT, with the Barr government blacklisting them, members breaking away to form a rival body and financial problems stemming from its election campaign.
