A man has died and two people have been injured in a two-car crash in Canberra's south.

Police said a Mazda and a Ford collided at the intersection of Yamba Drive and Dookie Street in Farrer about 11.55am on Thursday.
A woman, 82, who was a passenger in the man's car was taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the other car was also being treated for serious injuries in hospital.
Witnesses called triple-0 and paramedics tried to revive the man but he died at the scene.
No details of the man's identity have been released.
Traffic diversions are in place and motorists are warned to avoid the area.
Yamba Drive is closed northbound from Dookie Street.
The male driver was turning right into the southbound lanes of Yamba Drive from Dookie Street when his car collided with the second vehicle, which was travelling north.
Traffic Operations Station Sergeant Susan Ball said police were still trying to establish how the collision happened.
"There are a number factors we take into play and that's the condition of the road, the weather conditions and visibility."
"This is an open, clear intersection, weather wouldn't have played a factor in this today but it's warm and in the warmth people do tend to relax a little bit more and that does affect your concentration.
"We do urge everyone, in this lovely, warm, sunny weather, to still maintain concentration while they are driving."
The death was the 12th road fatality in the ACT and the second fatal crash at that same intersection this year.
In June, a 55-year-old man died in hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Dookie Street.
Sergeant Ball said police would consult with ACT Roads on any aspect of the road's engineering that could have influenced the collision as part of the crash investigation.
A police crash reconstruction and investigation team will stay at the crash site for the next few hours and will prepare a report for the coroner.
"ACT Policing are advising for this festive season to please slow down, to please not be distracted by mobile phones and other people in the car and please don't drink and drive," Sergeant Ball said.
"ACT Policing want all Canberra people to be at the table for this festive season and also for New Year's celebrations."
