About 700 mad Canberra supporters have joined forces to outnumber their rivals at one of the Chiefs' fans favourite drinking holes.
Most arrived after making a mad dash from the capital on charter flights in the hope of witnessing an historic victory.
But no one was more dedicated than 20-year-old Caitlin Taylor. A long-time supporter from a Brumby-mad family, Caitlin flew 13 hours from Los Angeles for the match.
In a huge show of support, Caitlin will fly back to Los Angeles on Sunday night in a 48 hour trip around the world.
Her dad Jim was in South Africa to watch the semi-final last weekend and Caitlin said she couldn’t miss the final, despite only moving to the United States two months ago to attend a drama school.
“Straight after they won I spoke to mum and she thought I was joking when I said I was coming,” Caitlin said.
“But I’ve got to fly back on Sunday night because I have to be back for school. I was exhausted before, but the atmosphere is exciting … my friends in [Los Angeles] don’t even know what rugby is.
“My dad’s a crazy fan and I have to thank him for it … he got us into rugby when we watched the 2007 World Cup in France.”
Brumbies winger Henry Speight’s older sister Davila and younger brother Jerry have never been at a Super Rugby match before but have joined the Aussies at the popular Hamilton watering hole ahead of kick-off.
They flew in from Fiji after spending his three-year career huddled around a television with family and friends in their village watching every Brumbies match.
