Fire at Bega Court flats on Cooyong Street extinguished

Firefighters were called to the flats, on Cooyong Street near Akuna Street, just before 5.30pm on Tuesday, an ESA spokesman said.

Three pumpers, the Bronto aerial unit and the hazardous materials unit attended the fire, as well as the ACT Ambulance Service.

The flats were unoccupied at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Firefighters are conducting atmospheric monitoring of the site and will soon begin investigations into the cause of the blaze.
