Firearms have reportedly been stolen from a house in Tarago - 70km north-east of Canberra and 45km north of Goulburn - and a fire has completely destroyed the home.

NSW Police said the crimes occurred sometimes between Monday and Thursday and the owner returned to the Williams Drive property to find weapons and other items missing from his safe.
"Police from the Hume Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are treating the fire as suspicious," a media statement read.
