Its very name – and logo – is if not a direct steal, then at least an appropriation of the Labor Government-funded Like Canberra campaign from a few years back. And let's not ignore the shades of Facebook.
The Like Canberra campaign, which ran in 2012 ahead of the 2013 centenary celebrations, asked Canberrans to list the top 100 things they liked most about the national capital (Floriade came up on top). And it also featured the thumbs-up logo.
Like Canberra Party president Tim Bohm, was unapologetic.
"We call it brand hijacking," he said, gleefully.
"I've heard Andrew Barr is really upset he can't wear his Like Canberra T-shirt anymore."
But Bohm reckons they've tweaked their branding enough not to be done for plagiarism.
"It's sort of like shopping at Aldi," he said.
While a high-speed rail system for Australia's east coast remains a priority for the party, it will be releasing other policies, including the need for a corruption watchdog for Canberra.
Chief Minister Barr can apparently look forward to the Like Canberra Party following him around with Kambah the Corruption Watchdog during the campaign.
Mr Barr wasn't too concerned about the brand appropriation.
"It was a great ACT Government campaign so you can't blame them for borrowing the idea. It's certainly a more positive message than some other parties. It will be interesting to see if they have any ideas of their own to back it up," he said.
