After months of anticipation, Tigerair's first flights linking Canberra and Brisbane will begin on Thursday, when flight TT813 touches down at Canberra Airport.

The low-cost direct flights will run three days a week, on Tuesday, Thursdays and Sundays.
Tigerair said the standard fare year-round between Brisbane and Canberra would be $109, with a start-up promotional fare of just $69, and regular sale fares of $89. Tigerair's website shows some more expensive Sunday fares.
The flights depart Brisbane at 10:30am, arriving in Canberra at 12:20pm. The return flight departs Canberra at 1:05pm, arriving back in Brisbane at 2:45pm.
The first flight uses an A320, with Tigerair using an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 plane for the route.
Data from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics showed the Brisbane to Canberra route is the 24th busiest in Australia, with 585,500 passengers carried in the 12 months ending July 2017.
Passenger numbers increased 4.2 per cent on the year before.
Spokesperson for Tigerair Vanessa Regan said the new flights would seat up to 180 passengers and were introduced due to the high demand.
The first flight on Thursday, September 14, was sold out well in advance.
The Canberra and Brisbane flights are Tigerair's second Canberra route, with direct flights beginning to Melbourne at the end of 2016.
From Friday, September 15, Tigerair introduces an additional return flight between Canberra and Melbourne. Tigerair already flies to Melbourne seven days a week, and will now offer two flights on Fridays.
"Tigerair will provide close to 4000 seats weekly and 200,000 seats annually from Canberra airport, providing a welcome boost for tourism and the local economy," Ms Regan said.
Tigerair is a fully owned subsidiary of Virgin Australia.
