We're a pedal-loving city year-round, but the Big Canberra Bike Ride is a day where riders of all ages and abilities can get together to celebrate cycling. Events include the 5km Big Family Ride, the 35km Big Lake Ride, the 65km Big Dam Ride, and for those with the glutes of steel, the 120 km Big Tidbinbilla Ride. If you're not sure whether any of these are for you, get excited by the fact that you'll get to experience riding down Parkes Way sans traffic. There will even be West African drummers sending you on your way, plus face painting, live music and a jumping castle. Rond Terrace, Parkes. Sunday 6am–3pm. For a full price list visit bigcanberrabikeride.org/registration. Register at the event hub on Saturday from 1–4pm or Sunday from 6am. $20-165.
